As you can tell from our company name, we at Pat’s Pump & Blower specialize in pumps and blowers. We understand that blowers play an important role in many types of operations or plants, and that it’s important to find the right kind of blower for your needs. To help you make your plant the best it can be, in this article our team will be going over two of the types of blowers we offer here, so that you can make an informed decision about which one suits your needs.
- Centrifugal Blowers. One of the main types of blowers we offer here at Pat’s Pump & Blower is centrifugal blowers. This type of blower uses a fan to displace air and is often contained in ducted housing designed to direct the airflow in a particular direction or across a heat sink. Centrifugal blowers can also be single- or multistage, with single-stage blowers being ideal for things like venting or conveying operations, while multistage blowers are better for things like gas compression, convection drying, water treatment, and more.
- Positive-Displacement Blowers. Another type of blower that we at Pat’s Pump & Blower offer is known as a positive-displacement blower. In this model, air enters a chamber, where it is trapped by two opposing rotors, then discharged out the other side. The name positive-displacement refers to the fact that these blowers displace a fixed amount of air, trapping and pumping out the same volume of air every time. While these are typically not as efficient as centrifugal blowers, in many cases they have a lower start-up cost, making them an attractive option to many.
We at Pat’s Pump & Blower hope that this information has been helpful. If you have further questions about our blowers and their relative benefits, just give us a call.
