One of the many services we offer here at Pat’s Pump & Blower is street sweeper repair. Our team has the right knowledge, skills, and experience to identify what is wrong with these machines and to restore them to 100% factory condition. In this article, we’ll go over a few warning signs to look out for in order to tell when you need to get your sweeper repaired. If your street sweeper exhibits any of the following issues, we encourage you to give us a call.
- Brooms Don’t Rotate – One way to tell if you need street sweeper repair is to look at the brooms. Street sweepers use multiple brooms to remove dirt and debris from the roads. Most models have two rotating gutter brooms to push the debris underneath the vehicle, as well as a center broom to push the dust back toward the rear broom, which rotates upward toward a conveyor belt. The conveyor belt then moves all the dirt up into the sweeper’s debris If any of the brooms on your sweeper are not moving as they should, you should contact our repair team as soon as possible.
- Short Bristles – Another sign you need street sweeper repair is your broom’s bristles breaking off. Although a street sweeper’s broom bristles are made of steel and poly and are therefore very durable, they will get worn out over time and need to be replaced. If your brooms have a lot of broken bristles, we encourage you to get your brooms replaced soon.
- Engine Problems – Lastly, make sure to pay attention to the engines in your street sweeper—both the one powering the vehicle itself and the one powering the sweeping mechanism. If the one powering the sweeping mechanism is acting up, we recommend bringing the vehicle to us for street sweeper repair.
